Unable to compete with Blu-ray, Toshiba just unveiled its new XD-E500 DVD player, which promises to come jam-packed with the latest technologies. This DVD player is not meant to compete of replace Blu-ray players, but will enhance the playback of regular DVDs. The player offers eXtended Detail Enhancement or XDE tech that improved resolution significantly. Upconverting technology cant’s compare with HD-DVD or Blu-ray, but it can offer an “in-between” alternative to a standard DVD player, especially for all of you have significant DVD collections.
